There is a hedgerow of bushes separating our driveway from our neighbors backyard. I don't pay any attention to them all year (other than trimming them back when they eat the car), but as soon as the evening air gets crisp the leaves turn a beautiful shade of red. The dogs needed to go out this afternoon, and I grabbed the camera on the way out the door. While dodging some raindrops I managed to grab a few photographs. The light ended up being gorgeous! The rain got serious, driving me back inside, but not before I had a little fun...
I drove up Broad Blvd. in Cuyahoga Falls today, and all of the sudden the trees had changed. The trees in the center of the boulevard are always the first to go, and their color is fleeting. I always find myself thinking "I'll wait a day or two for the rest of the trees to get some color, and go shoot some pictures", only to find that the leaves have dropped overnight. To quote Ferris Bueller "Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around once in a while, you might miss it". Stop and take a moment to appreciate the beauty of the fall. If you wait till you have time, you might miss it...

Black Dog Photo Co. photographed a great charity event over the weekend. We had a great time helping out the American Cancer Society's Cattle Baron's Ball. I think this is one of the most fun events in Akron! It is a western themed party at Hale Farm and Village, and everyone has a great time. We donated a family session and framed 11x14 to the silent auction, and were really excited to raise $200 toward fighting cancer! Please let us know if you are interested in having Black Dog Photo Co. help support your charity, we love giving back.

It is a gloomy, rainy Friday in Cuyahoga Falls today. Honestly, I am kind of enjoying my coffee and watching the rain for the time being. However, sooner or later I'll get ants in my pants and want to get out of the house. Days like today often send me on a wandering path down memory lane. Right now I'm thinking about being in Siesta Key, FL with Ash this summer. We went down for a friends wedding and spent a couple of awesome days out on the beach. One morning in particular stands out. We were waiting on the dock for our buddy to pick us up for a morning fishing trip, and the sun peeked out from behind the clouds. Sarasota Bay looked amazing, and I found myself digging in my bag for the camera before the moment slipped away. I managed to shoo the guys off the dock long enough to grab a few images. This one brings me back to that warm summer morning on the water, and jets me temporarily away from the chilly rainy day outside my window.
Bailey is the Black Dog. Check out some cool pictures of our buddy!
Welcome to our blog. We will be posting information about our wedding and portrait photography studio, as well as what we are up to around the Akron and Cleveland area. I hope this can be a good source of info for all who are interested in the Black Dog Photo Co. experience!
